This AI thing? It’s real.
Not the keynote version. The version where a task that ate a week now takes an afternoon, where the numbers are right, and where the software runs on Tuesday when nobody’s watching.
Most companies don’t have an AI problem. They have a gap between what the tools could do and what anyone has actually built. Closing that gap is not a strategy exercise. It’s a build exercise.
So we build. In days, not quarters. With your data, inside your walls, measured in your numbers. That’s the whole company.
Principles we don’t bend on
On time, on budget, and the work actually runs in production.
Same engagement, same team, no handoffs.
If the work doesn’t work, you don’t pay.
We’d rather show you 99.9% than tell you “world-class.”
Built into every system from day one, not bolted on.
From church livestreams to the best AI firm in the Midwest
Pulse started by accident. In March 2020, COVID sent Millikin University freshman Sean Miller home with no job and no internship. With a camera from his closet, he started streaming his local church to Facebook. By summer's end he was recording five churches, all pro bono. Then every one of them wrote him a check before he went back to school.
The work grew into Sean Miller Media, then pivoted toward what he was studying: custom development built at night between classes and college baseball. At graduation came the fork. Sean pitched Jake Shumaker, a fellow Millikin student, on a true 50/50 partnership, and in January 2024 they rebranded to Pulse.
A long way from filming church services in towns of 5,000 people, but built on the same instinct: see a problem, show up, and actually do the work.
